Busy as a bee before Beltane

It's a hectic week for me, as I am reading at two events both linked to magical re-imaginings of British traditions.  On Saturday, which was St George's Day, I was at the fabulous Twisted Tea Party, hosted by Pagan Pride as a fundraiser for this summer's parade and festival (on August 7th at Nottingham's beautiful Arboretum).  Subtitled 'Fools, Freaks & Folk', it was a psychedelic celebration of traditional English tea-times, Victorian steampunk, May Day and the forthcoming Royal Wedding. I had a fantastic time, and all the money I raised was promptly donated to the very worthy cause!

Tomorrow I will be at the Arts Organisation near Nottingham's train station, as part of the Market at Lambhorse Cabaret's Royal Rawkus.  Lambhorse Cabaret aim to "challenge and push the medium of live performance and blur the line between reality and absurdity, comedy and taboo". I think my Deviant Moon deck is called for! It's going to be a riot I am sure - and I've been busy devising short fun spreads designed around the theme of the pending nuptials of heir-to-the-throne, Prince William.    Of course I won't know until things get going what sort of spreads will be the most appropriate - I am anticipating loud noise and limited privacy, but a great atmosphere full of energy and wonder! I think a 'King of the Castle/Dirty Rascal' draw might be fun-yet-meaningful, but ultimately I'll let the cards (and clients) decide. Tarot is all about the here and now, after all.
